Mr Bugri Ibrahim, NPP aspirant seeking the post of Upper East Regional Second Vice Chairman has promised to increase the number of parliamentary seats in the region from three to eight come 2020 elections if given the mandate.
Mr Ibrahim who said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Bolgatanga after his vetting said he would target Bolgatanga central, Bongo East, Builsa South and Pusiga constituencies, where the NPP could not win in the 2016 general election.
He urged the delegates to vote for him to enable him work with the grassroots to solicit their support to win more seats in the region.The 43 year old accountant noted that he had already worked assiduously for the party in 2012 and made a member of the party to monitor the membership registration exercise at some of the constituencies in Accra.
Mr Ibrahim therefore appealed to the delegates to vote for him, stressing that if they gave him the mandate, he would work with everyone in the party to enable the party retain power come 2020.
