Nii Korle VII, the Chief of Korleman has commended Mr Clement Wilkinson, the Ga West Municipal Chief Executive for initiating the construction of a technical/vocational institute in the town.
The educational project, which forms part of the four-year (2018-2022) development plan of the Ga West Municipal Assembly would provide skills training to students of Korleman and its environs.
Nii Korle made the commendation in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after a meeting of opinion leaders in and around Korleman, near Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region.
The meeting deliberated on how children in the area could also benefit from the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy of the government. He said the chiefs and people of Korleman had already offered vast land for the construction of school structures and teachers’ quarters for the teachers to stay closer to enhance teaching and learning.
Nii Korle advised the students in the area to take their studies seriously to benefit from the government’s free SHS. Mr Daniel Atuquayefio Clottey, the Secretary of the Korleman Town Development Committee mentioned some of the beneficiary communities to the school project as; Medie, Hebron Ayibontey, Samsam ,Odumase, Mamdii, Kutunse , Kpobiman , Mpemanben and Otooman.
He said education was key to societal development and urged parents to enrol their children in school.
