The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) on Wednesday presented a bull and other items worth about 10 million cedis to Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club for their outstanding performance in reaching the finals of this year's Confederation Cup.
The other items include 10 crates of minerals, 10 crates of milk, two bags of rice, a bag of sugar and two crates of mineral water.
Mr J.Y. Appiah, Chairman of GHALCA who made the presentation in Kumasi said the Association was very proud of the achievements of club in both the local and continental stages.
He said even though the items seem small, it is meant to motivate the team in its preparations asked the management of Kotoko to be mindful of the spirit behind the presentation.
Mr Appiah said that the special GHALCA Knockout competition that was organised for the Premier League clubs when the league was on recess contributed immensely towards the excellent performance and tuning up of both Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak to reach this far and who incidentally are playing the Cup finals.
He said Kotoko and Hearts have therefore made the nation very proud by their achievements.
Mr Anthony Osei-Poku, a member of the Management team of Kotoko on behalf of the Board of Directors, Management, Technical bench and the playing body expressed appreciation to GHALCA for its kind gesture.
He said GHALCA's gesture should propel other corporate bodies, organisations and associations to assist the club to improve on its performance.
Mr Osei-Poku called on the government, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and other organisations to motivate football clubs to be able to give off their best.
Mr Hans Dieter Schmidt, head coach of Kotoko gave the assurance that supporters of both Kotoko and Hearts will enjoy an afternoon of good football on Sunday.
GHALCA has already presented similar items to Hearts of Oak.
