I wish to take this opportunity as a former Minister of Agriculture of Food and Agriculture from 2001 – 2004 to congratulate our gallant farmers and fisherman on the 25th Anniversary of the National Farmers Day Celebration; more especially for holding out against the fierce imports competition over the years.
The theme for this years celebration “Modernization of Agriculture for Food Security and Economic of Transformation” should spur them on to achieve the most out of agriculture especially in the areas of value addition to zero waste and attractive packaging and presentation as the fasters way of achieving food security for the nation and economic transformation within the shortest possible time.
I believe in our farmers and freshermen. They have done it before and they will do it again. They need everybody to support them.
Once again, I wish them my warmest congratulations and the very best in the years to come.
