Half way through the Airtel Freedom to Dream promotion, one of the ultimate winners, Mr. Abbas Mohammad, an engineer, has picked the first of the GHC 25,000 cash prizes, making him the highest winner so far.
Mr. Abbas, a Pakistani currently working on the Bui Dam project, was drawn alongside 7 others during the third weekly draw, qualifying them to play in the Money Show.
He was pleasantly surprised to hear he was GHC25, 000 richer. “I didn’t believe it when I was told I had been selected as one of the winners, but I believe it now”, he said.
Mr. Abbas, who has been using his Airtel line for more than 6 months, wants to use his winnings to build a house for his family.
Other winners included Gideon Nana Adjei, an Accra-based teacher, who took home GHC10,000, Hudu Issa, a farmer from Techiman who won GHC7,500 and Thomas Quarshie, an engineer from Accra who walked away with GHC5,000.
David Otumi, an electrician from Tema and Robert Asante, a Kumasi-based trader each won GHC5, 000 while Olu Gabriel and Helena Comfort Yamoah, a student and teacher respectively, each went home with GHC 2,500.
Speaking on the promotion, Mr. Tara Squire, Marketing Manager Usage and Retention, Airtel Ghana said, “We set out to impact the lives of our customers and we are happy to be achieving our aim. We are glad someone has been able to pick one of the highest amounts of GHC 25,000. This will go a long way to empower him to achieve his personal goals”.
Mr. Squire explained that the promotion was open to both new and existing Airtel customers with an active SIM card and that customers get one entry anytime they recharge with GHC2 or talk for a minimum of 50Gp within 24 hours.
