• 7 others win GHC 32,500 in Airtel Freedom to Dream promotion
Accra, 15th February, 2011: Twenty six year old Gifty Zuuri, a fuel pump attendant at Kasoa, who had always dreamt of becoming a nurse, was selected as one of the 8 winners of the 2nd draw of the Airtel Freedom to Dream (FTD) promotion. She won GHC 10,000, an amount she says is more than enough to help her pursue her nursing dream. Seven other winners collectively took home GHC 32,500.
Eric Johnson, a construction supervisor at Asylum Down won the 2nd highest amount of GHC7,500, while Rose Odoi, a trader at Teshie Nungua, Euphemia Asafo, a social worker, Jacob Atiah, a sack weaver at James Town and Kujo Adido, an Nsawam based carpenter each won GHC5,000. Robertson Debrah, a producer at North Kaneshie and Emmanuel Afetorgbor, a Tema based driver, also walked away with GHC2,500 each.
An obviously excited Gifty revealed that she had seen the advert of the FTD promotion on TV, but never imagined she would be one of the winners. “I always assumed some lucky individuals somewhere would win in the promo but never me. Imagine my surprise when I received that call from Airtel informing me my number had been selected”, she said.
After the money show, the third weekly draw was also held to pick another set of 33 winners out of the Freedom to Dream database.
The top eight winners from this group will take their turn next Tuesday to play in the 3rd Money Show to win up to GHC 25,000. The next ten will however receive a cash prize of GHC 500 each, while the rest would be given brand new Nokia phones with a year supply of airtime.
Commenting on the promotion, Mr. Tara Squire, Marketing Manager, Airtel Ghana said, “We are glad our customers can bear witness to the credibility of the promotion; that is what Airtel is noted for. We will continue to come out with innovative ways to help our valued customers live a more satisfied life”.
He added that the promotion was opened to both new and existing Airtel customers with an active SIM card “Customers get one entry anytime they recharge with GHC2 or talk for a minimum of 50Gp within 24 hours”.
