Pupils of Dakpemyili Presby Primary School in the Jantong Circuit of the East Gonja District were on Thursday treated to a Christmas party to round-off their academic season.
The pupils, numbering about 230, were given food and beverages as part of the Christmas party organized by Presby Farmers Training and Child Development Programme (PFT/CDP), an NGO in collaboration with Christian Children Fund of Canada, an international child-centered organization, as part of activities to inculcate the habit of sharing and fellow-feeling amongst the pupils.
PFT/CDP has been implementing educational support programmes, water and sanitation amongst other developmental projects in the Jantong Circuit for over a decade now.
Mr Mohammed Tahiru, Jantong Circuit Supervisor of Education, called on parents to continue to honour their responsibilities towards the welfare of the children to enable them to perform well in school.
Mr Tahiru also appealed to teachers to continue to do their best saying their hard work would be recognized.
He commended PFT/CDP for its partnership with the Jantong Circuit, which had brought improvement in education infrastructure in the circuit.
Mr Edward Abanga, Programmes Coordinator of PFT/CDP, said the NGO would continue to do more to bring relief to the pupils in terms of provision of educational materials amongst other support initiatives.
Mr Abanga said the focus of the PFT/CDP's projects was on children with the aim to create a better future for them and their families.
In a Christmas message, Mr Simon Wusuwe, Catechist at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Ridge Congregation, Tamale, advised the pupils to demonstrate love to one another for harmonious living.
Mr Ibrahim Mohammed Saani, Headteacher of Dakpemyili Presby Primary School, urged parents to ensure that their children are regular at school.
