Fire gutted portions of the Executive Block of the Electoral Commission and National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in Accra on Monday.
The NCCE, which was severely hit, had its registry, Chairman's office and accounts offices affected but officials said vital documents were saved by the vigilance of staff and executives.
In an interview, some of the officials noted there was an unusual scent and they alerted other officials. However, not long after that, the offices were engulfed in fire.
Officials of the Ghana National Fire Service managed to put off the fire, whose cause will be investigated.
