Mr Samuel Atidzah, Executive Director of GOSANET, a Ho based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), has cautioned the youth to abstain from premarital sex.
"As Christian youths, shy away from sex before marriage and preach the message of abstinence alongside the gospel," he advised.
He was addressing the first Youth Camp of the New Creation International Church, dubbed "2009 Youth Camp Fire", at Abutia, in the Ho Municipal area.
The Camp was attended by 16 congregations of the Church from Ghana, Togo and Benin.
Mr. Atidzah also advised the youth to show love to but not stigmatize those who have contracted HIV/AIDS so that they could live longer lives.
"As the devil finds work for the idle hand, engage yourself in community development and other social programmes," he advised.
The Reverend Emmanuel Quist Agboka, Youth Pastor and coordinator of the programme, appealed to religious bodies to be in the forefront in the fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS.
He cautioned the youth that condoms are not full proof protection against HIV because "condoms are manufactured by humans and are not hundred per cent safe".
Mr. Jerry D. Zokli, a disease control officer of the Ghana Health Service, appealed to the youth to practice personal and environmental hygiene, exercise regularly and watch their diet to stay healthy.
