A non-governmental organisation has appealed to chiefs to lend more support to the campaign to slow down the spread of the HIV-AIDS in the country.
Mr Eugene Koranteng Asante of X-Change Delta, a Kumasi-based NGO, said given their enormous influence in the society, chiefs could play significant roles in the education campaign to reduce rate at which the virus is spreading.
He said this at a workshop held at Ejisu to map out strategies to combat the spread of the virus.
The Ghana AIDS Commission sponsored the workshop.
Mr Asante appealed to the chiefs to serve as agents of behavioural change in their communities.
Madam Afua Ackor, Director of X-Change Delta, said the campaign against the virus had become everybody's business and should not be left to only the workers.
