A member of the Brazilian presidential security forces was killed Wednesday during a dispute with one of his colleagues.
Corporal Jefferson de Oliveira Santos was shot dead by a fellow guard at Granja do Torto, one of the residences of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, said General Goncalves Dias, head of the presidential security.
The name of the guard who had dispute with the dead was not disclosed.
Neither Lula nor any of his relatives were in the residence at the moment of the shooting, said the general.
The president was informed of the accident and expressed his regrets over Santos's death, he said.
