Twelve female Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), candidates in the Kwahu West Municipality, were detected to be pregnant.
Twenty out of the total 2,137 candidates failed to turn up at nine centers.
These came to light when Mr. Noah Dwamena, Municipal Director of Education and Deputy Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr Joe Nyankanawu, visited some examination centres in the municipality.
Mr. Dwamena advised examination supervisors and invigilators to ensure that the pregnant girls write all the examination papers to enable them further their education after delivery.
He advised the supervisors and invigilators to enforce all rules and regulations governing the examination to avoid malpractices that would lead to the cancellation of the results of the candidates.
