A district magistrate court at Kade in the Eastern Region, on Monday sentenced Kofi Agyapong, a barber, to 18 months imprisonment for stealing a DVD player.
Agyapong pleaded guilty to the charge.
Police Inspector Eric Tetteh Zorh, told the court that the complainant, who operated a drinking bar at Akyem Apinamang, on January 12 this year received report by his wife that thieves had broken into the spot and stole the system that valued at GHC 75.
Prosecution said a witness informed the complainant that Agyapong had kept a DVD player with him (witness).
Insp. Zorh said the complainant identified the DVD player as his and arrested Agyapong and handed him over to the police.
Prosecution said the convict in a caution statement, indicated that Eleasu sold the system to him but he could not trace him.
