Nana Krontihene III, Chief of Anum Boso in the Eastern Region, on Thursday appealed to Ghanaians to protect the current peace prevailing in the country as a national asset.
He said "We must all see the peace prevailing in the country as a national asset and resolve to protect it".
Nana Krontihene made the appeal at the out-dooring ceremony of Togbe Asamoa IV and Togbe Tatra V, as Chief and Avafia (War Chief) respectively of Adaklu Ahunda-Boso in the Adaklu Anyigbe district.
Togbe Asamoa, 50, who succeeded his late grandfather, who died in 1989, is known in private life as Mr. Blaisus Kwaku Adzei and is the Keta Municipal Director of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE).
Togbe Tatra, 27, known in private life as Mr. Evaristus Selorm Ankah, is a Direct Sale Assistant, with the Barclays Bank in Accra.
Nana Krontihene advised the new chiefs not to lord it over the people but to consider themselves as people chosen to serve their community in humility.
He appealed to the people to unite and assist the new chiefs for development.
Togbe Asamoa observed that indiscipline, disrespect for the elderly, squabbles, the lack of commitment to community issues, among others were affecting the development of the people.
He lamented the fallen standard of education in the area and said he would set up a committee to develop a strategic educational and development plan for the community.
