The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said that it is working to manually resolve technical challenges affecting its online teacher recruitment portal.
On April 10, the GES invited graduates with education degrees to apply for teaching positions nationwide.
However, some applicants reported that certain Colleges of Education were initially missing from the system, forcing them to select institutions they did not attend.
Addressing such concerns in a Citi News interview on Tuesday, April 14, the Public Relations Officer of the GES, Daniel Fenyi, acknowledged the concerns, stating that such issues were anticipated and would be addressed.
“So, for example, for those who have lodged concerns that their colleges were not in the system initially and all that, we anticipated such concerns, and so with or without the college, you were still able to progress to the next stage.
“We won’t penalise you for a systemic challenge. It is not from you, the applicant; it is from us. So we will still take your application. But eventually, by the time we are done with the whole process, we will have 100 % confirmed the institution you completed and the certificate you have in your hand.”
Regarding complaints about some subject categories appearing ‘full on the application portal, he also confirmed that although the application deadline remains Friday, April 17, some slots have indeed reached full capacity.
