Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has intervened to resolve the long-standing chieftaincy dispute within the Sunyani Traditional Council, outlining a clear roadmap aimed at restoring peace and stability in the area.
The intervention follows tensions involving the Paramount Queen Mother, Nana Akosua Dua Asor Sika Brayie II, and the newly installed Paramount Chief, Odeefuor Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II.
Through an Alternative Dispute Resolution process led by the Ministry, all parties agreed on measures to resolve the impasse within three months.
Speaking at a Unity Press Conference, the Acting President of the Sunyani Traditional Council, Nana Kwaku Sarbeng II, announced the lifting of the suspension on the Queen Mother, who has now been fully reinstated and recognised, alongside four divisional queen mothers.
