The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned maintenance works scheduled for Wednesday, October 22, 2025, across selected areas in the Tema, Greater Accra, and Central regions.
The exercise, which will run from 9:00 a.m. to between 4 pm and 5 pm, is aimed at improving power supply reliability and ensuring better service delivery to customers.
In a series of public notices, the company said power supply will be interrupted in affected communities to allow engineers to carry out essential network upgrades, repairs, and equipment replacement works.
In the Tema Region, areas expected to experience outages include Jericho, Adjei Kodjo, Kanawu, BBF, Abattoir, Community 19 (2nd Gate), Dawhenya Township, Abbey Kope, and surrounding communities. The company said power would be restored immediately after maintenance works are completed.
In the Greater Accra Region, the exercise will affect several major communities, including Top Herbal, Haatso, Sasaabi Township, Mensah Bar, Bawaleshie, Oyibi, Malejor, Kitase Township, Springfield Community, Aburi, Adjiringanor, NTHC Estate, NAFTI, Kotoku, and Medie. The scheduled work is expected to run from 9am to 5pm.
The Central Region will also experience multiple maintenance activities covering several districts and communities. Areas to be affected include Ekumfi Asaman, Ekumfi Egyankwaa, Ekumfi Egyabenkwa, Ekumfi Otuam, Ekumfi Kontankora, Ekumfi Etseebaadu, Ekumfi Rabbi, Ekumfi Immuna, Ekumfi Srafa Mpoano, Ekumfi Srafa Kokodo, Ekumfi Owofa, Ekumfi Owuya, Ekumfi Aboano, and Ekumfi Boadukwa.
Other affected communities in the region include parts of Winneba Roundabout and Winneba Low Cost, Gomoa Bewadzi, Gomoa Onyadze, Mankwadze, Gomoa Abrekum, Ankamu Junction, Gomoa Ajumako, Apam, Manford, Dago, Gomoa Assin, Gomoa Nkransh, Gomoa Kumasi, Gomoa Enyame, Gomoa Dankyie, Gomoa Koforidua, Gomoa Dawurampong, Gomoa Nduam, Gomoa Wassa, Gomoa Nkran, Gomoa Esikuman, Gomoa Debiso, Gomoa Darman, Gomoa Abonko, Gomoa Lome, and Gomoa Ogun.
Additionally, residents of Larota, Fiifi Pratt, Millennium Junction, Nyanyano Township, Kakraba, and nearby areas will also be affected.
In all the notices, the ECG expressed regret over the inconvenience the planned maintenance may cause, urging customers in the affected communities to take note and make the necessary arrangements to mitigate the temporary disruption.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the notices stated.
The company further assured the public that the maintenance works form part of a nationwide initiative to strengthen the power distribution network and reduce unplanned outages caused by system faults and ageing infrastructure.
