The government has presented an amount of GH¢500,000 to the University for Development Studies (UDS) football team for winning the World University Football Games.

President John Dramani Mahama commended the team for defeating Brazil in the final to lift the trophy and described their triumph as an extraordinary achievement that has brought pride to Ghana.

He said this at the Jubilee House when the Team together with Management of the University paid a courtesy call on him.

“The presidency is also pleased to present you with something. We won’t let you go empty handed. So this is GHS500,000. It is a reward to the team for the good job you have done,”  President Mahama noted.
