President John Dramani Mahama has signed a book of condolence opened at the Namibian High Commission in Accra for the late former Namibian leader, President Sam Nujoma.
President Mahama said: "Liberation Comrade, you have truly fought a good fight, and now is the time for the faithful soldier to lay down his arm and take a rest.
"Namibia is truly grateful to you, and Africa is truly grateful to you for the dignity and freedom we enjoy as a people.
"Rest in peace, soldier, Sam Nujoma.
Long live Africa and Namibia solidarity."
President Nujoma died on 8 February, at the age of 95.
He was a Namibian revolutionary, anti-apartheid activist and politician who served three terms as the first President of Namibia, from 1990 to 2005.
President Nujoma was a founding member and the first President of the South West Africa People's Organisation (SWAPO) in 1960.
