President-elect John Dramani Mahama has revealed that President Nana Akufo-Addo has pledged to facilitate a smooth and peaceful transfer of power, laying the groundwork for a collaborative transition between the outgoing and incoming administrations.
Mahama disclosed that both teams have agreed to initiate the transition process ahead of schedule, with discussions slated to begin on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
In his victory speech, delivered shortly after the Electoral Commission declared him president-elect, Mahama emphasized the need for a unified approach to the transition, stressing that cooperation will be key in driving the country’s progress forward.
“I have also just received a call from His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo. He graciously extended his congratulations to me, and we had the opportunity to discuss matters related to the joint transition team.
