In a significant boost to the Ghana Health Service's (GHS) efforts to encourage private sector support for healthy living and the well-being of all Ghanaians, Azar Group has generously donated 50 buckets of paint to refresh the Mutondo CHPS compound in Yendi. This donation is part of the ongoing private sector engagement efforts initiated by GHS, aimed at rallying support from local businesses to enhance public health facilities across the country.
Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, the Marketing Manager of Azar Group expressed the company's commitment to contributing to the health and well-being of communities in Ghana. "We are proud to support the Ghana Health Service in its mission to promote healthy living. Our donation is a testament to our dedication to giving back to the community and ensuring that health facilities are in the best condition to serve the people," he stated.
The Director of Health Promotion Region, Acting Director Mabel Asafo, conveyed her immense gratitude to Azar Group for their invaluable contribution. "Azar Group has truly stepped up to the plate, and we are deeply appreciative of their support. This donation will go a long way in improving the environment of the Mutondo CHPS compound, making it a more welcoming and hygienic place for both staff and patients," she remarked.
During the ceremony, the Regional Director for the Northern Region, Dr. Abdulai Abukari expressed his excitement at seeing more Ghanaian-owned businesses taking up the mantle to support health facilities in Ghana. "It is heartening to witness the private sector's growing involvement in our health initiatives. The dedication of Azar Group to this cause exemplifies the type of partnership we hope to foster moving forward. The Ghana Health Service remains committed to ensuring healthy living for all Ghanaians, and with the support of the private sector, we can achieve even greater outcomes," he noted.
This donation marks the beginning of further engagements between the Ghana Health Service and the private sector. These efforts are part of the USAID/Ghana Accelerating Social and Behavior Change (ASBC) support, which aims to enable the government of Ghana to engage the private sector in promoting healthy behaviors and practices in support of the public health agenda.
