Additionally, the park boasts over 300 bird species, including the rare Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, more than 30 reptiles, and over a hundred butterfly species. Moreover, the park is abundant in various vascular plant species such as baobab, acacia, and shea trees.

The mission of Mole National Park is to manage Ghana's wildlife resources while creating job opportunities and promoting economic activities in the surrounding area to support local socio-economic development. In 2000, the park was included in UNESCO's Tentative List of World Heritage Properties.
