The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, yesterday called on Muslims to love one another and promote peaceful co-existence among themselves at all times.
That, he said would bring development into their respective Muslim communities in the country.
He said Islam was a peace-loving religion hence the need for the practitioners of the religion to exhibit this value.
Dr Bawumia made the statement in Tamale in the Northern Region when he attended the final funeral rites of two brothers, Alhaji Laminu Yahaya Iddi and Ahaji Iddi Yahaya Iddi.
The two brothers died instantly on September 3, 2023 in a car accident on the Gambaga-Legbinsi road in the North East Region.
They were the sons of Alhaji Yahaya Iddi, the first Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“When I heard about their death I was so sad and I said to myself how can two brothers just die like that in an accident”, he said
The Vice President described the deceased as true Muslims, and hailed their great contributions to development in their communities and the activities of the NPP.
“Their contribution towards the development of Muslim communities was not only in the Northern Region but it was across many communities in the country,” he added.
The Vice President said the contribution of the late two brothers in the NPP could not be forgotten and called on Imams to continue praying for their departed souls.
