The farm is managed by Richard Ekow Quansah, Chief Executive Officer, and Benjamin Turkson, Director of Operations. The main fish species farmed in Ghana are Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and African catfish (Clarias gariepinus). The species provide diversity in the farm’s fish stock.

R&B farms limited is also into fish feed production. This is geared towards meeting the fish feed deficit in Ghana. Providing locally sourced fish feed for both semi-intensive and extensive farmers is a major concern for R&B farms. According to management of the farm, some farmers may opt to import fish feed which comes with an estimated 30 percent increment on the cost excluding import duties. R&B farms hopes to help both intensive and extensive fish farmers to invest in their own feed composition.

The farm as well provides training for local fish farmers, especially those from communities that rely on fish farming as a means of livelihood. Some farmers may intend trial-and-error strategies to manage their fish farms which may not be the best practice. For example, most farmers run into difficulty and abandon their cages because their farms may be suffering from low productivity and low returns on investment. Such training and capacity building helps them to manage their farms effectively.

R&B farms limited provides employment opportunities for some Ghanaians to earn a living. It also seeks to contribute towards narrowing down the fish demand and supply gap deficit in Ghana and the sub-region.
