The AccraPremium Foundation in partnership with KFC Ghana, Dzata Cement, & BT Ranking conducted the 2nd Feed 1000 Families outreach project in various parts of Accra with a concentration on communities affected by the Weija Dam Floods.
Feed 1000 Families was established in 2020 by the AccraPremium Foundation in response to the COVID crisis. On Tuesday the Feed 1000 Families team made up of members from; The AccraPremium Foundation, KFC Ghana, Dzata Cement, Pippa’s Health Centre, Gigi’s Kitchen, & the Wellness Sanctuary distributed KFC Ghana’s brand new Chicken & Rice Bowls to families, school children, and the elderly.
The first stops in the outreach were in central Accra, distributing to families in Osu’s Mandela Park and the school children of Jamestown’s Universal Wonderful Street Academy. MCE Hon. Patrick Kumor provided resources and NADMO support as Julius Sarpei, PRO of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly led our group to the most harshly impacted areas to ensure the most vulnerable families could benefit. Distribution points were set up in Tetegu Ashbread, New Weija, and Oblogo, sharing some relief and support to areas still returning to normalcy.
This activity is coordinated with the support of Osu Assemblyman Herbert Kpakpo Garshon; Nii Ayinsah Sasraku of the Ngleshi Alata Paramount Stool Council, Nii Danso II, Tetegu Mantse, and the Oblogo Assembly Member Hon. Francis Sankofi Antwi. The Oblogo Assembly can be contacted directly at 0303966118 if interested in learning more about the community.
Feed 1000 Families is the concluding event of the 2022 AccraPremium Accra Food Festival. The AccraPremium Foundation extends a special thank you to all parties involved and look forward to the next outreach program.
