For the first time in the history of the International Advertising Association (IAA), an African, Joel Edmund Nettey has been inducted into office as the World President and Chairman of the International Advertising Association (IAA). Joel previously served as Senior Vice President and Vice President in charge of Communications.
As President and Chairman, he leads a team of 25 Executive Committee members from a host of countries including Australia, Austria, India, Italy, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Romania, UAE, UK, and USA among others.
Joel, a Ghanaian, is a savvy and well-acclaimed Management, Marketing and Marketing Communications expert and the Founder and Chief Executive of The Ninani Group, a group of Marketing Communications Specialist Companies that include ReZultz Advertising, Interactive Digital, Touchpoint Magna Carta, Brand Alert and Innova DDB, Ghana.
Joel Nettey has over twenty years of experience leading, creating and shaping campaigns for some of the most iconic brands. He is also the immediate Past President of the Advertising Association of Ghana.
A thoroughbred marketing communications professional, he has also been Chief Executive of various multinational marketing communications agency affiliates in Ghana including Saatchi & Saatchi and Publicis and is a 2-term Past President of the Advertising Association of Ghana and the IAA, Ghana Chapter. Among many firsts, he is credited with setting up the first Marketing Communications Agency Network across Central and West Africa for The Publicis Groupe to service Nestle, with operations in 13 countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal, Cameroun, Niger and DR Congo.
In November 2010 the Network Journal USA (www.tnj.com) recognised his sterling qualities when it named him as one of the inaugural 20 honorees from across Africa in its "TNJ 40 under Forty Africa" Awards.
He holds a Masters in Business Administration (Marketing) and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics and Psychology, from the University of Ghana.
Joel and his wife, Rachel, are blessed with 3 children – Nichole, Natasha and Nigel.
