At Child Online Africa, we consider the digital divide goes beyond issues of connectivity and being strongly linked to digital skills and digital literacy of children and families. The COVID19 shows the urgent need for action. For the child in Africa to be positioned for opportunities to help him/her thrive in this age, requires the eights digital citizenship skills while relying on some competences according to the World Economic Forum. The child in Africa also needs to be equipped and engaged in digital skills and literacy programs which will include safety and protection measures. This is the reason we have decided to bring this program to Africa.
