The initiative seeks to ensure that the less privileged in society are assisted to maintain personal hygiene during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.    

The project, which is sponsored by Fay International Limited, producers of Faytex Sanitary Pad, has the Angeles Foundation and Repairer Foundation as organizers.   

Three communities: Bukom, Mamprobi, and New Mamprobi have so far benefited from the "Pad for All" Project.

Ms Osisiadan-Bekoe who is also a Public Relations Practitioner, explained that many menstruating girls and women had inadequate toilets and water and other basic materials needed for managing blood flow, such as sanitary pads, hence the initiative.

"We are in the middle of a pandemic, this even makes menstrual hygiene a more pressing concern. People will continue to menstruate during this outbreak and after this pandemic," she said.

She added that the project would therefore, be extended nationwide to ensure that menstrual hygiene protocols were observed by many females.

Ms Osisiadan-Bekoe praised Fay International for their consistency in manufacturing safe, healthy, sanitary and maternity pads.

She noted that the project was empowering girls through menstrual hygiene seminars, "over the years, we have provided healthy and affordable sanitary products throughout Ghana".

Ms Mary Achieng Ojuka, Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator, Fay International led her team in educating the women on menstrual hygiene.

 She said: "when you are in your period, you should keep your genitals clean. Since the vagina has a sensitive balance of useful and non-useful bacteria.

"It is best to avoid any soaps or vaginal cleaning products and wash with warm water instead. Taking a bath regularly, helps you keep clean".

At Bukom, Professional Boxer, Braimah Kamoko, popularly known as Bukom Banku, was present to support the initiative and expressed his gratitude to the organizers for such a thoughtful gesture.

Mr Adotey Brown Assemblyman for Mamprobi, lauded the "Pad for All" initiative and encouraged the organisers to extend it to other parts of the country.
