The Koforidua Polyclinic has received personal protection equipment (PPE) valued at GHS20,342.00 to aid its fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic.
These included infrared thermometer guns, surgical face masks, face shields, disposable protective coats, gloves, paper towels, bleach solution and sanitizers.
They were a donation from the Koforidua branch of the Republic Bank
Mr. Reynolds Ewusi Adamzi, the Koforidua Manager, and his Tema counterpart, Mr. Daniel Obeng, jointly presented the items to the health facility at a ceremony.
They said it was the bank's contribution to efforts at helping to contain and stop the spread of the pathogen.
Dr. Ekow Kaitoo, the New Juaben South Municipal Director of Health, said they were grateful for the support, adding that, it would give significant boost to measures put in place to prevent the virus infection.
He encouraged the people to continue to adhere to precautionary measures – social distancing, wearing of nose masks, hand washing and the use of alcohol-based sanitizers.
