District Information Officers (DIOs) and Commentators of the Information Service Department (ISD) in the Eastern Region has been oriented on how to
educate the public on COVID-19.
The District Information Officers and Commentators are to educate local communities to observe the handwashing and social distancing protocol to prevent the spread of the disease.
Ms Sethlina Okai, Eastern Regional Director of the ISD, said the orientation was to strategies on how to effectively educate the local communities.
She said the social distancing protocol was not well understood by many especially in the rural areas, and so the field officers would use demonstration to break it down for them.
She indicated that the information vans would be used to get the education to the remote areas and where the vans were not in service, the respective assembly would provide means for the officers.
She urged the DIOs and the commentators to exhibit the handwashing and social distancing protocols for others to emulate.
