Plan International Ghana, has supported sanitation efforts at the Ho Central Market with water storage tanks and hand washing stations.
The items include eight and a seven litre water holding tanks, and 10 hand washing stations.
Rose Beyuo Siisor, the Organization's Volta Projects Unit Manager, presenting the items to the Volta Regional Minister, said the Organisation had considered the low human to wash station ratio, and agreed to offer some help.
She said the organisation would back the donation with sensitization activities towards securing strict hygienic practices among the market folk; one of the most concentrated groupings who made most contact with the general public.
Dr Archibal Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minster was grateful for the support, and also stressed on the need to ensure hygienic practices particularly at the commercial centers.
The presentation followed a press briefing on the disinfection of major market centers in the Region, which had been necessitated by the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 disease in the Country.
A total of 75 markets were disinfected by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development with support from Zoomlion Ghana limited and security personnel.
