One of The Economist’s editions has it that the outbreak of COVID-19 is interrupting children’s education.
While focus is geared towards economic threat this epidemic poses, its consequence on academic work cannot be ignored.
The closure of schools as a remedy to curb the spread of this canker has affected many children across the globe and Not Ryu, is no exception.
The Economist noted that, As the new coronavirus spread across Japan, schools throughout the country closed on March 2nd.
On their part, the parents of Not Ryu, a nine-year-old in Tokyo, have enforced a strict schedule for him every day.
Notably, Ryu does mathematics on his abacus every morning. He is also scheduled to learn Japanese, science and physical education.
Notwithstanding, the nine-year-old is allowed to play in a park for 90 minutes on weekdays.
Speaking to The Economist, his mother, Fujimaki Natsuko, said, “I wish I could take him to the park more, but we have limited time as we work from home”.
