In an effort to promote youth development, Ghanaian culture and tourism, the country will play host to 8 volunteers mainly university students from South Korea, to undertake various activities in Ghana. The group, who are members of the Good News Corps will undertake activities including but not limited to language and cultural exchange, youth and community development activities, and Mindset Education.
The one year Good News Corps volunteer program seeks to inculcate the spirit of volunteerism in the people of Ghana especially the youth. As part of their visit to Ghana, they are expected to hold a Press Conference at the Ministry of Tourism art and Culture, on Tuesday 18th February 2020.
The Deputy General Secretary of the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) Rev. Ato Edwin said the group’s visit to Ghana is the 10th in series, done annually by the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) which has over the past 10 years hosted over 500 Volunteers from overseas. The eight comprise 5 female and 3 male, all tertiary students who have deferred their programs for 1 year to volunteer in Ghana.
Rev. Ato Edwin said this should serve as an inspiration for the youth of Ghana to emulate and have the heart to serve and live for others in all their aspirations.
The Good News Corps Volunteer Program by the International Youth Fellowship is supported by the Ministry of Tourism art and Culture.
ABOUT GOOD NEWS CORPS
Good News Corps is an overseas volunteer service program of International Youth Fellowship (IYF) that provides young people a chance to experience and appreciate the diversity of foreign cultures first-hand. It's also an authentic opportunity to help others and plant the heart of God in those with no hope or joy in life.
There's nothing more inspiring than witnessing young men and women who only cared for themselves undergo a genuine change of heart to live for others.
As they spend one year living in foreign countries, they gain an understanding and appreciation for foreign culture, discover skills that open doors for the future and develop depth of spirit through fellowship with God.
