The move is to nurture their talents and sharpen their skills on various trades to eradicate poverty.

The NGO, "Fightback against Poverty," operating in Adjua and Akwiidaa communities in the Ahanta West Municipality, said it had made significant impact in several African countries such as Togo and Sierra Leone.

Mr Andreas Schindler, the Founder, told the Ghana News Agency that investment in the youth was critical in securing a better future for every nation.

"Every country is only as good as the education of its children," he said, and encouraged communities to support the education and proper upbringing of the young ones.

Mrs Andrea Blankson, Country Manageress of the NGO, said solving juvenile delinquencies, child labour, abuse, school dropout and related social issues in the beneficiary communities had become a great concern.

She called for concerted efforts from all stakeholders to bring those issues under control and raise the fortunes of those communities.

The Chief of Akwiidaa, Nana Akulo Numa, is supporting the project with a parcel of land for the cultivation of crops to improve the income generating activities of the people.
