A pediatric unit, built to provide quality healthcare to infants, has been inaugurated at the HopeXchange Medical Center, a health facility, in Kumasi.
The range of services it would be offering include preventive healthcare, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic infant diseases.
Dr. Akosua Amoateng, the Medical Superintendent, said the child-friendly facility would significantly assist to ease the pressure on the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), the nation's second largest referral hospital.
The Medical Center has been in operation for barely four years but boasts a number of specialized units - diabetes and hypertension clinic, internal medicine and ultra-modern eye clinic.
The Management of the facility, Dr. Amoateng said, was going to add to these, obstetrics and gynecology unit by the close of the year.
Their goal was to support the drive towards ensuring that the people had access to quality health services to improve the quality of life.
She appealed to the city authorities to fix the bad road leading the hospital to give some comfort and provide safety to those using the road.
