This year's maiden Nobel International Business School (NIBS) Ghana Innovation awards is slated on Friday November 22, 2019, at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel 18 hours.
The Awards is an annual comprehensive awards programme that recognises private and public sector organisations, teams, and individuals that demonstrate the core values of innovation in all its dimensions.
This was in statement signed by Latif Abubakar, the Event Director and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra.
The programme provides a notable opportunity for high-performing individuals, groups, and organisations that develop innovative products, services, business models, and implement creative organisational initiatives to be acknowledged and celebrated for their achievements.
The objective of the programme is to build a national initiative for innovation through national recognition, dialogue, and knowledge building and sharing.
Touching on the awards processes, the statement said it used elements of an established innovation management assessment model developed by Professor Kwaku Atuahene-Gima a renowned Marketing Management.
It said following a specific set of criteria, the model assesses individuals, teams, and organisations on the full spectrum of their innovations in products, services, and organisational initiatives, and to review their performance.
"This process provides participants the unique opportunity to benchmark themselves against the set of criteria that mark out top innovation performers globally", it added.
The awarding board is made up of experienced and distinguished local and international academics and practitioners in innovation management, including; Prof. Kwaku Atuahene-Gima, and a host of scholars.
The Awards categories are National Awards for the Year, comprising Ghana Outstanding Corporate Innovator , Ghana Outstanding Government Innovation ;Ghana Outstanding Public Sector Innovation, Ghana Promising Innovative Company (less than 5 years old), Ghana Innovative CEO, and among others.
The Innovative Company of the Year involve sectors such as Hospitality, Sanitation; Telecom; Banking; Shipping; Pharmaceutical; Media; Agribusiness; General Insurance; Life Insurance; SME; Oil and Gas (Downstream), Oil and Gas (Upstream), Beverage/Water Manufacturing, among others.
The Innovative Product of the Year comprised of Business model innovation, Process Innovation, Service Innovation, ECO Innovation, Product Innovation; Digital Innovation, Mobile Innovation, Marketing Innovation, Corporate Social Responsibility Model, among others.
The event is organised by NIBS, a partner of the SBS Swiss Business School, and the International Foundation for Africa Innovation and powered by Globe Productions, and Graphic Business.
