Aimed at improving access to quality healthcare delivery in the municipality, the renovation works worth GH¢60,000 lasted for seven months.

It involved tiling of the floors, painting, re-equipping of the disease control room, dental unit, consulting room and the Out-Patient Department (OPD) with logistics, air-conditions, chairs and fans.

At a ceremony to unveil the renovated facility, Mr.Ernest Sunday, Board Secretary, Pacific Oil Chamber (POC) said the project was in line with the Foundation's unwavering effort to fulfill its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) in their areas of operation.

It was also to complement government's determination to ensure healthy lives and promote the well-being of all people at all levels with improved access to qualify health care.

Mr.Sunday reiterated the urgent need for the private sector to effectively complement government's development agenda to ease the pace of socio-economic development for all.

He mentioned various interventions by the Foundation across the country to include;, GH¢30,000 monthly stipends to hundreds of widows, drilling of boreholes and the mounting of sanitation, education and empowerment programmes.

Mr Martin Daanko, Acting Municipal Director of Health Services praised Nana Ama Amissah III, the Paramount Queenmother of Mankessim Traditional Area through whose efforts, PFG, offered to support and also commended PFG for its immense assistance.

He described the completion of the renovation works as timely adding that it would facilitate enhanced health services at the hospital and reassured the commitment of the staff to deliver on its mandate.

The Health Directorate pledged to ensure the regular maintenance of the facility to serve its intended purpose and appealed for more medical logistics and equipment, accommodation and social infrastructure to facilitate their work.

Nana Ama Amissah III, the Paramount Queenmother of Mankessim Traditional Area, who commissioned the facility commended the Alhaji Zakari Ibrahim, the Chief Executive Officer of POC for the gesture.

She demanded an immediate construction of about a kilometre of road to the facility and appealed for more help from corporate institutions and philanthropists to aid the health centre ,serving the over 46,000 people in the area.
