The event, which is on the theme '' Improving Service Delivery to Promote Ghana beyond Aid'' provided a platform for the Civil Service to engage the public and private sector, and identify potential areas of collaboration.

Mrs Joanna Des-Bordes Acquah, a staff at Marriage Unit Department in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the public had misconceptions that, civil service workers were lazy, urging the citizenry to change the negative perception about them.

She said, as part of the programme, selected staff from the various departments were sent out to Tema Station to educate the public on what they do at their departments in terms of registration of marriages, businesses and estates execution.

The Ghana Civil Service under the auspices of the Office of the President started the celebration on Monday 4, and will climax the event with an awards night on Friday November 8, 2019.

The programme also seeks to recognise the strategic importance of employees of the Civil Service to national development, and to honour their dedicated and selfless service to the public and citizens of Ghana.

Madam Abena Pokua, the Senior Company Inspector said there were three types of business registration which are Partnership, Sole Proprietorship, Company Limited.

Explaining that, the Sole Proprietorship which is also referred to as a one- man business is where an individual proprietor owns and manages the business and is responsible for all debts and liabilities,

Company Limited is a corporate structure whereby the shareholder's liabilities are limited to any amounts unpaid on the shares and once a shareholder has fully paid for his shares, he or she is not to incur any further liabilities in respect of the company.

Partnership is an arrangement whereby a minimum of two or maximum of 20 people combine some or all of their resources, skills or industry with the objective of making profit which would be shared by the partners.

Madam Janet Nkrumah, Head of Estates said, they shared property of deceased under the cap 30, saying it was done on the instructions of the Court to share property not willed by the deceased, thus it is shared among the children, spouse, parents and family members.
