The Universal Postal Union (UPU), the United Nation’s specialized agency dealing with postal matters, will now hold its CEO Forum on 30 September at the RAI, Amsterdam, Netherlands, during the Parcel & Post Expo 2019.
Titled, New business models in an age of change, the daylong forum, which was originally to be held in Zug, Switzerland, in the summer, brings together the world’s postal CEOs to discuss blockchain, as well as postal services for an ageing population and young people.
CEO of UKI Media Tony Robinson said, “We are delighted to be able to host the UPU CEO Forum at Parcel and Post Expo 2019. The venue offers CEOs an excellent opportunity to combine the forum with seeing the world's leading innovations for parcel and mail handling solutions at the exhibition.”
Speaking about the decision, the UPU’s Programme Manager for Communication and Events David Dadge said, “The CEO Forum is one of our flagship events and we are truly delighted to partner with UKI Media to bring together the world’s postal CEOs to Amsterdam to discuss the postal industry’s many challenges and opportunities.”
Dadge added ongoing discussions about the need to increase the speed of digital transformation and e-commerce opportunities had placed a spotlight on the postal sector in a way perhaps never seen before.
The Universal Postal Union is a United Nations specialized agency with its headquarters in the Swiss capital Berne. Established in 1874, it is one of the world’s oldest international organizations and is the primary forum for cooperation between postal sector players.
