The Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly(KKMA) has begun its 2019 public hearing to account for the stewardship and draw ideas from the people.
The public hearing which begun within the locality of Kakasunanka, Nmlitsakpo, Sebrepor, Bethlehem and Gbetsile (KAMSSBERG) Zonal council is in line with Section 40 of the Local Government Act 936.
In a power point presentation, Ms Ivy Oduro Kwarteng, Municipal Planning officer, unveiled the various projects undertaken by the Assembly over the years, which included schools, hospitals, markets and roads.
Ms. Kwarteng further explained that, the Municipal Assembly was faced with many challenges but managed to undertake some developmental projects to enhance the quality of life of the residents.
The Municipal Planning Officer also revealed that, the Kpone Katamanso Municipality was growing rapidly in human population hence there was much pressure on social amenities which required that the Assembly must put in much effort to meet the demands and aspirations of the residents.
She noted that about 246 NABCO personal were posted to serve in their various modules within the Municipality with 175 yet to be posted.
Mr. Noble Atsu Ahadzi, Municipal Budget Officer, on his part, said KKMA was adjudged the 2018 best Municipal Assembly for the Greater Accra Region in Internally Generated Fund (IGF) generation adding that the Assembly raked in ghc10,316,314.39 as at December 31st 2018.
Mr. Ahadzi again stated that the Assembly could not survive without the support of the residents with an appeal to them to pay their rates promptly.
The Municipal Budget Officer, assured that the Assembly would frequently stakeholders and seek their concerns in order to tailor their activities to meet the demands of the people
