The Field Ready Programme is aimed at equipping students with industrial specific skills, knowledge and capabilities to make them employable.

Reverend Professor John Frank Eshun, the Vice Chancellor of Takoradi Technical University, said the Memorandum of Understanding had come at the right time to boost the efforts of the University to focus more on Competency Base Training (CBT).

"By this MOU, the Takoradi Technical University has taken a major step today for the employment of Ghanaian men and women who come here for training into a wide range of industrial sectors. Indeed, the university is the first to have an official licence to operate the Field Ready Employability Programme", he said

The VC said some of Field Ready graduates were contributing significantly to major international companies who have invested in Ghanaian economy.

Reverend Professor Eshun said with the acquisition of  the licence, the University could expand the programme as it seeks to include a third cohort of students in September 2019.

The Vice Chancellor on behalf of the university, thanked the Field Ready Partners, Faculty members, students, Allied Companies and the Government of Ghana for turning attention on the growth of the TVET sector.

On his part, the Chief Executive of Field Ready, Phil Andrews said signing of the licence agreement with Takoradi Technical University marks a new stage in a long-standing and positive relationship for Field Ready in Ghana.

"We will never forget that Ghana in general and TTU in particular was the first location in the world to operate this highly aspirational brand in employability", he said.

He said, Field Ready was making a stop at Matola and Nampula in Mozambique and Dakar in Senegal later this year, "we can reflect with pride that, today that global employability for industry has a name ‘Field Ready’ and that it was born in Ghana!”.

Present at the signing from TTU were the Director of Finance, Mr Emmanuel Boadi, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Centre Manager for Jubilee Technical Training Centre, Dr John Bentil, the University Legal Officer, Mr Samuel Adinkrak and Mr Mathew Gyan and Peter Mackenzie Smith, Chairman of Field Ready.
