The Alfred Nobel University of Ukraine on Saturday, conferred on Dr Kwame Kyei, Chairman of the Unity Group of Companies, a First Professorship award, for his outstanding performance in the fight against poverty in the country as well as the development of the nation.
The award, under the auspices of the Ukrainian Ministry of Education, was presented by Professor Eugene Cronoff, Dean of Research and Development of the University.
At an awards ceremony at Legon in Accra, organised by the Confederation of Governance Assessment Institute (COGA), and the Bureau of Research and Governance Commerce and Administration (BORGCA), also conferred on three other personalities Doctoral Degree for their selfless contribution to the development of the nation.
They were Mr Emmanuel Bortey Borketey, Chief Executive Officer of Happy Man Bitters, Dr K.K. Peprah, Managing Director of K.K. Peprah Company Limited and Fadda Dickson Narh, Managing Director of Despite Media Group.
Professor Cronoff said the outstanding performance of Dr Kyei, who is also the Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club, over the years, had proven peerless and a force to reckon with in the development of the nation.
He expressed the hope that the award would spur him on to win more awards in the years ahead. Mr Borketey, who spoke on behalf of the other awardees, commended the University for the honour done them and was hopeful that they would continue the good work for the development of Ghana.
The University was founded in 1993 as a private higher education institution with a focus on Management and Economics, but has continuously expanded its portfolio of study programmes. Currently, 16 Bachelor Programmes and 18 Master’s programmes are on offer, including Master in Business Administration programme for professionals as well as a smaller number of Doctoral and post-Doctoral programmes.
