The United Press for Development Network and EduEnter Group Ghana, a non-governmental organisation has scheduled the second edition of the Ghana Media Development Conference (GMDC) on Saturday April 28.
The conference is on the theme: “Media, Converging in Thought to Create a New Ghana/Africa”. A statement signed by Mr Kofi Asante Mensah, Principal Servant, and United Press for Development Network and copied to the Ghana News Agency said the seminar is crafted to bring together members of the inky fraternity.
The statement said it aimed at providing cutting edge modern expertise and innovative media training to empower, build, and motivate the participants. The statement said the process of communication has evolved since the inception of devices that has accounted for ease in message transfer mitigating errors that occurred traditionally.
"The Media is considered to be the most vital and powerful component as it deals with information which is required to be adequate and timely imparted. "The Media Development Conference is believed to serve as that platform for knowledge transfer in relevance to the future of Media and Mass Communication in Ghana", the statement said.
The statement said the Second GMDC is designed to launch an anti-corruption media action dubbed; “Media Movement Against Corruption” to empower and deepen understanding of corruption and the role of the Ghanaian media. It said participants will be honoured with certificate of participation.
