The building, which cost GHC51, 000 has been reinforced with glass doors, spacious seating space, air conditioners, security room, rest rooms and computers to improve the quality of services delivered to customers in the Region.

Mr Kenneth Ennin, the Upper East Regional Manager of GWCL who spoke at the commissioning of the new payment point, said customers were key asset of the Company and needed to be treated with care and humility, hence the need to provide them with a congenial environment to transact business with the Company.

He said the Company was committed to implementing policies that would improve customer service delivery and satisfaction as it discharged its mandate of water production, distribution, repairs and revenue generation.

He said the new facility would also provide a platform for customers to interact with GWCL on their challenges regarding bills, meter reading and expedite services. Plans, he said, were afoot to ensure that the Company’s payment point in the Bolgatanga Municipality would receive a similar facelift to make the Company more accessible and appealing to attract customers and increase payment of water bills in the Region.

On the Company’s plans on moving to a paperless system of payment, he said GWCL will soon roll out modalities to relieve customers of the stress of piling and handling bills sent to them. Mr Ennin said the Company had created an electronic payment system to enable customers to make payments of bills at the comfort of their homes via their phones electronically.

In an earlier interview with the GNA, the Regional Manager indicated that the Company had received new pumps to upgrade water supply from its current 40 cubic meter per hour to 80 cubic meters capacity in the Municipality.

The upgrading would improve water distribution to Zuarungu and its environs.
