The first ever “Keratoprothesis” surgery with the state-of-the-art equipments is here in Ghana by Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital.
In lieu with the hospital’s vision to move quality eye care beyond the continents, Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital has brought to Ghana the first ever “Keratoprothesis”. This is a surgical procedure where a diseased cornea is replaced with an artificial cornea. Traditionally, keratoprosthesis is recommended after a person has had a failure of one or more donor corneal transplants.
This is the first time in history this kind of eye surgery is coming to Ghana with the best ever medical set-up being done by the best eye surgeons at Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, restoring partial to complete eyesight among special cases that has not been able to rectify. Being the first and the leader in this new technology, an ultra morden state-of-the-art theatre and equipment have been brought down to assist the surgeons treat these eye problems and many more in Ghana.
Rhoda, a 39 year old woman came to Dr Agarwal's Eye Hospital with complaints about loss of vision in both eyes. She had developed Steven Johnson Syndrome following intake of anti-malarial drugs.
