The Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) has awarded Mrs Ethel Adjorlolo Marfo, the Founding Director, Junior Shapers Africa (JSA) with a Special Awards at 28th edition of the Institute’s National Performance Awards in Accra.
Mrs Marfo received the Special award together with Seth Kwame Boateng, a Broadcast Journalist with the Multimedia Group.
Mrs Marfo was awarded for her dedication to grooming and mentoring vulnerable boys between the ages of 6-15 years in schools and communities.
The event was on the theme: “Cause Related Marketing: A Panacea for National Behavioural Change”.
The awards covered eight major areas: Personalities, Hall of Fame, Hall of Fame- Elite Category, Media, Products, business and special category.
Mrs Marfo’s was given a plague and a citation, which reads: “you founded the JSA, a social enterprise that seeks to champion the proper upbringing of the boy child and aspire them to become responsible men and supporters of the empowered modern women.
“You were motivated by the fact that no matter how empowered the girl child is; she still needs a responsible man to co-manage their home during marriage”.
Mr Kwame Boateng was also given a plague with a citation which reads: “You are not only focused on the urban dwellers, but kept your lenses on boys living in slums and deprived communities; who stands a greater risk of being neglected without proper integration.
“Your exploits are fast gaining grounds with many well-being Ghanaians good-mouthing and recommending you to prospective trainees”.
Mrs Marfo expressed gratitude to the leadership of the CIMG for recognising her effort in raising responsible boys to build stronger homes and communities for a better Africa.
“We are inspired to do more and looking forward to impacting more boys across Ghana and the African continent with effective behavioural shaping programmes,” she added.
Other award winners are Mr Ebenezer Twum Asante, CEO, MTN Ghana-CIMG Marketing Man of the year, Mrs Abiola Bawuah, the CEO, UBA- CIMG Marketing Woman of the year, Mr Clifford Duke Mettle, Director Marketing and Alternative Channels, Unibank-CIMG Marketing Practitioner of the year and Ms Lorlornyo Nuworsu, Client Relations Officer, NHIA- CIMG Marketing Student of the year.
