He said the success of the policy was pivotal in offering free and equal access to quality education for an accelerated national development.Mr Fordjour made the call at a sod-cutting ceremony for the installation of a telecommunication mast at Assin Homaho to improve telephone and internet services.

The MP said Ghanaians were awaiting the fruition of the free education policy and asked stakeholders in education to collectively contribute their quota to the provision of quality education for all students.

He charged teachers to endeavour to eschew absenteeism, lateness, laziness, drunkenness and other social vices, which were formidable obstacles to sound upbringing of children. He added that government was keen on intensifying its development initiatives, particularly in rural areas to speed up socio-economic development and therefore all on-going roads, education, health and agriculture projects would be completed while new ones be undertaken to boost rural economies of Ghana.

The MP urged Ghanaians to rally behind the President, Nana Addo DankwaAkufu-Addo to revive the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and other social intervention programmes to improve the health and well being of Ghanaians.

"I can assure you that the government is working to reverse the financial anomalies in the NHIS," he indicated, adding that "if good healthcare was basic to the survival of citizens, good education was also critical to Ghana's development"

He expressed the conviction that the government would work hard and turn Ghana's economy around and lift the people out poverty, saying "it is for this reason the government had assembled a team of tried and tested professionals to find workable and endearing solutions to the development challenges faced by the nation".

Mr Fordjour asked them to take advantage of the planting for food and jobs programme to expand their farms to support themselves and help maintain national food security.

 He said Ghanaians would not regret voting for the Party, stressing that the NPP will take the desirable steps to leap the country to the "promise land" and make it a better place for everyone.Nana Amoah Duodu II, Chief of Assin Homaho thanked the government for the honour done them and called for increased support to open up the area for development.
