Sheikh Dr. Amen Bonsu, a member of the National Hajj Board, has expressed optimism about a smooth and successful pilgrimage to Mecca by the country’s Muslims, this year.
He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that adequate preparations had been made to ensure that everything went well. He added that air-ticketing, accommodation and everything vital for the comfort of the pilgrims had been sorted.
Sheikh Dr. Bonsu advised the prospective pilgrims to ensure early payment of their monies, to have their documents worked on, to avoid any disappointment. Making the pilgrimage to the holy land is one of the main pillars of Islam.
Sheikh Dr. Bonsu said the Board had stepped up the education to help Muslims to have better understanding of what was expected of those, who make the religious journey, whilst in Saudi Arabia.
This, he said, was necessary to prevent them from doing anything that could bring embarrassment to the Hajj Board, the Islamic religion, and the country. Sheikh Dr. Bonsu stated that the trip was not for business, but spiritual growth.
