Prophet Tawiah was speaking at a ceremony in Accra at the weekend where he was conferred with an honorary doctorate of divinity by the Alpha Theological Seminary, a theological school in Ofankor in the Greater Accra region.

The preacher of the gospel described the campaign against galamsey as a “divine” cause which ought to be supported by every citizen of the country that had the interest of Ghana at heart.

“This fight against galamsey must be seen as divine calling on all of us to help protect the wonderful creation of God. Those engaged in the activity must understand that, they will face the wrath of God for destroying what God has created and also harming the survival of mankind,’’ he said.

He lauded the efforts of the government and media organisations to fight the galamsey menace, adding that “the necessary actions must be implemented to make the campaign bear positive fruits.
