Ghanaian women have been rallied to have self-belief and accept do more to lift themselves out of poverty.Mrs. Shirley Afrem Ampratwum, Executive Director of Royal Stages Limited, a media organization, said their focus should be on economic empowerment and having strong representation in political decision-making.
She indicated that they needed to discover their purpose of life and said that was important to help them to unleash their full potentials. She was speaking at a forum held to climax the women’s week celebration at the Koforidua Technical University (KTU) in Koforidua.
"Unraveling the potentials of the African woman, a prerequisite for national development", was the theme chosen for the event. Mr. Ernest Addae, an assembly member for Asamang-Tamfoe, in the Atiwa District, noted that, when given the opportunity to optimally exploit their potentials, women could substantially increase their contribution to the national development effort.Miss Belinda Ofosu Adutwumwaa, Women’s Commissioner of the Students Representative Council (SRC), urged female students to work hard to live their dreams.
